Static Lists of Values
A list of values based on a business layer on a query object is the most frequently used type of list of values. However, in some cases, you may want to provide users with a list based on a static data set. This can be useful if querying your dimension tables is particularly slow or if your universe accesses a transaction system and normalized database. The static list can be loaded from a flat file (text, CSV, or PRN), or you can manually enter values.
