SAP Servers with Multiple Network Cards
In the SAP architecture, the message server knows only the IP address that corresponds to the host name of the SAP servers. Therefore, all services must be reachable through host names. Each SAP application server must have at least one network adapter that can be accessed from all other SAP servers, as well as from front-end computers and other communication partners. The IP name of this network adapter must match the host name. The front-end PCs and all communication interfaces are configured to use only the host name of the SAP application server.
