Chapter 10: Advanced Topics – Performing Text Analytics
10.1 Introduction
When thinking about analyzing data, you usually think of structured tables; data organized into rows and columns. With text analytics, however, it is possible to analyze unstructured columns of text data as well. This could be free-form data like text in comment fields, customer complaints, movie reviews, job descriptions, book summaries, or the contents of health records. In this chapter, we will look at text analysis in Visual Analytics. Specifically, we will learn about the text topics object, the data needed to create the analysis, and how text analysis and sentiment analysis work. Then, we will add a text topics object to a report.
