Criteria for business models in scientific publishing

In Chapters 35 we have given an extensive analysis of the research environment, the strategic positioning of the researcher and competition between researchers, and looked at specific aspects of the acquisition of scientific information in research. This was followed by an analysis of the market in terms of the relevant forces and functions, thereby covering the growth of the market and its challenges. We then focused on a comprehensive description of the four functions of certification, awareness, registration and archiving; these four functions served as a platform to discuss relevant technology developments in hardware and software.
