3.1 Overview
While the current Web technologies facilitate the integration of information from a
syntactic point of view, there is still a lot to be done to handle the different seman-
tics of various systems and applications. at is, current Web technologies depend a
lot on the “human-in-the-loop” for information management and integration. Tim
Berners Lee, the father of the World Wide Web, realized the inadequacies of cur-
