Modeling Tools

When creating a model, no matter the type chosen, generally many tools are available to assist with the modeling. These tools can range from simple drawing utilities to applications that automatically generate a model from text or other inputs. Some of the important considerations in selecting modeling tools include support for the type or types of models desired; the amount of automation, such as restructuring and annotations; the style and form of the graphics; the ability to accept different inputs; support for mapping between different model types; and flexibility. Additional considerations are the cost, the learning curve, and availability.
