• TCP: e TCP is mainly based on two standards, RFC
(Request for Comments) 793 (http://tools.ietf.org/ html/ rfc793)
and RFC 1323 (http://tools.ietf.org/ html/ rfc1323). TCP
specifies how data can be exchanged between two comput-
ers. It is supported and used by all recent operating systems.
Furthermore, it is one of the core protocols of the Internet
Protocol Suite, so that all major Internet applications like the
World Wide Web and e-mail rely on it. TCP provides reliable,
connection-oriented, and packet-switching communication.
