Certied System Engineer (MCSE) certication. Likewise with
Unix, IBM issues an AIX certication, and other vendors such as
Redhat have their own programs. Cisco has a modular program of
certication that is quite complex (there are ve levels with seven dif-
ferent paths).
e subject is a little too detailed to cover here, but the content of
the study courses for the aforementioned accreditations is not enough
for an eective information risk management program. I mentioned
in Chapter 4 about dierences between operational and security skills,
and some of the missing content can be gleaned from there. Almost
all of the vendor administration courses have a security element.
