As well as preparing their children for possible threats they might face outside the home, parents must also prepare their children for threats they might encounter in the home, particularly online.

A very difficult message for children to learn is that threats might exist on the internet, a resource that is full of so much information and adds so much value to their lives, as well as letting them chat to their friends and play games online.

12.1 Managing online security for children

DLC, GTA, Robox, Minecraft, Avatar – these are all terms in children’s language that have evolved along with the technology and its use. Coding and computer science are in curriculums, and children are growing up with technology.
