Occupational safety is about creating a safe work environment, as well as an under-
standing, to facilitate the positive physical, mental, and social well-being of workers.
A common denition of occupational health was adopted by the Joint International
Labor Organization and World Health Organization Committee on Occupational
Health at its rst session in 1950, and it was revised at its twelfth session in 1995.
