accidental hazard: a source of harm or difculty created by negligence, error, or
unintended failure.
accountability: the security goal that generates the requirement for actions of an
entity to be traced uniquely to that entity.
adversary: an individual, group, organization, or government that conducts or has
the intent to conduct detrimental activities.
asset: a person, structure, facility, information, material, or process that has value.
assurance: condence that the other four security goals (integrity, availability,
condentiality, and accountability) have been adequately met.
attack method: the manner and mea
