To illustrate our recommendations, we show their implementation within a fictitious company named Blanco Wireless. Blanco is a mobile telephony provider based in the United States. As a means of account management, Blanco collects and stores personal information, including names, addresses, phone numbers, Social Security numbers, credit ratings, and other important customer data. At the end of each chapter, we discuss how Blanco Wireless implements the frameworks and methods suggested in the chapter. Examples include diagrams and explanations of how Blanco will use the chapter’s guidance to develop security monitoring.
