Networked Application Security |
NETWORK SERVICES generally have a wide variety of security-related features and options. These of course include Apache; Squid; the Berkeley Internet Name Domain (BIND); mail transfer agents (MTAs) such as sendmail, Sendmail, and Postfix; Voice over IP (VoIP) services such as Asterisk; the Common Unix Printing System (CUPS); and the Network Time Protocol (NTP). Options for obscurity are also addressed. Because Apache and BIND are especially popular options on the Internet, both application services are prime targets for attacks.
