Chapter 6. Building the model

How to use this chapter

To build the model, follow the section in this chapter entitled ‘Steps’. This methodology consists of a series of around 60 steps, with each requiring you to perform various tasks in a particular order.

While some steps are very short, for the more involved steps I have introduced the following subdivision to make it clearer to follow:

  • Overview
  • Specification (or inputs)
  • Design
  • Build (build sequence and build order)
  • Results.

Most of the tasks are described within the step. However, within some of the steps you will also find references to test and deliver tasks. These can be found in the sections titled ‘Testing the model’ and ‘Delivering the model’ further on in this chapter. ...
