LET’S TRY THIS THOUGHT EXPERIMENT. Let’s see what we have learned about insights by imagining how we might use the wrong tactics to study them. I went hunting for insights in order to assemble my collection of 120 stories. This variety of examples resulted in the Triple Path Model rather than one restricted to a single path.
Now imagine that we are going to repeat this project. What mistakes could we make? What blunders would send us in the wrong direction? What methods would prevent us from learning anything valuable? Here are some possibilities:
• Insights pop up unexpectedly, so we’d schedule a specific date, a specific starting and stopping time, for capturing an insight.
