Summary

We learnt a lot in this chapter about Selenium WebDriver and all of the different browsers that it supports and how we can use them.

Specifically, we covered:

  • FirefoxDriver: We saw how easy it is to get started with WebDriver and Firefox and how we can go about setting preferences and installing add-ons. We also saw how we can tell FirefoxDriver where to launch Firefox from.
  • ChromeDriver: We saw how easy it was to use ChromeDriver. Once we added the ChromeDriver executable that we downloaded to our PATH environment variable we were able to use the driver. We also saw how we can tweak settings before the browser loads if we wanted to install extensions or if we wanted to set the location of the Chromium Binary.
