Abstract

The current state of farming robots is presented in this paper. The extensive use of sensors, microelectronics, and computers has resulted in farming robots’ most significant recent advancements. Compared to well-known industrial robots, some unique characteristics of these machines emerge. Agriculture is quickly becoming an advanced field, bringing in new companies. The present paper deals with challenges faced by agricultural robotics, such as urban sprawl, rapid urbanization, increasing demand for good fruits and vegetables, and a lack of skilled labor are all difficulties that agricultural robotics is working to tackle. The application of robots in farming enables farmers to get a high yield in less time with reduced human errors. Sowing the seeds and cutting down the crops, environmental management, and caring for crops are all processes that can be automated by robotics. The present paper provides an overview of agricultural robots’ technologies, types, and applications. It also discusses how agricultural robotics can be employed in different farming processes.
