Power BI, R, and Python have in common that they are heavily used to ingest, transform, and prepare data. All three come with very helpful ways of achieving such tasks. You can use Power BI’s core functionalities to transform data either via the graphical interface or by writing M code, as you learned in Chapter 8 (“Creating Columns by Example”). If you hit the limitations of Power Query, you can use a transformation written in R or Python, or even reuse one you already have, inside Power Query.
