Section 8. Photographing Collectibles
When you're selling collectibles, including one or more photos of the item is every bit as important as the description you write. That's because photographs document the item's condition; if you don't have a good photo, interested collectors can't know for sure what they're bidding on.
Photo Basics
Taking an effective product photo takes a bit of effort; it's not quite as easy as snapping off a quick Polaroid. To take quality photos of the items you intend to sell, you'll need a decent digital camera and a variety of photographic accessories, including
- Digital camera (with macro option, if you're shooting smaller items)
- Tripod (to steady the camera)
- Lighting (ideally, two or more photo floodlights)
