ABOUT THE AUTHORS

Alan Calder’s background is in sales and general management. Although he led the world’s first accredited certification to what has become ISO27001, his continued involvement in the information security industry has been on the interface between management and technology, in the management of information security, rather than the technological infrastructure on which it depends.

Alan has written widely on IT governance and information security management. The book he wrote with Steve Watkins, IT Governance: An International Guide to Data Security and ISO27001/IS027002, is now in its sixth edition and is the Open University’s postgraduate information security textbook.
