3A Model of Sensible Leadership
Traditional leadership models identify relevant factors to explain effectiveness in different situations, including leaders’ traits, behavior, orientation to people and tasks, and the specific context. All are relevant factors, but based on our experience, we propose in this book a Sensible Leadership model for leaders to have a significant impact on human beings’ wellbeing, which is necessary to attain high performance and long-term sustainability. The model includes three central concepts: influence, insight and prudence, and it identifies as essential qualities of sensible leaders being integral leaders and ethical leaders.
