The recent technological advances and the multiple challenges faced by the health-care sector are strongly motivating the adoption and development of e-Health services. In this chapter, we provide a high-level framework for the design of end-to-end e-Health solutions and focus on the potential enhancements that can be achieved by the application of network coding (NC) techniques at the medium access control (MAC) layer.
