Abstract:

As health monitoring technologies for civil infrastructure transition from research to practice, several leading sensor technologies and associated algorithms have emerged. The rationale for choosing a given sensor type in a specific health monitoring installation depends on many factors, but they are generally inexpensive, robust, and mature technologies. Furthermore, while a large variety of advanced algorithms have been developed for health monitoring applications, the majority of these algorithms share commonalities in the features that are extracted from the data.
