I have snowboarded for more than fifteen years, but every year, my wife and I take a private snowboarding lesson before we hit the slopes. Doesn't matter where we are or who we're with, we do it. One year, a friend who joined us on one of our trips and just wanted to get on the mountain gave us a hard time about the lesson. “I thought you guys knew how to snowboard!” he laughed. Then he mocked us with remarks about how he didn't need or have enough time to take “no stinking lessons.” He only had three days to board. We didn't take the bait.
