Business alignment

Close alignment between the scope of the intended IT solution and the needs of the business is achieved by providing a formalized view of the problem domain. Communication remains the key to this more formal view, so it is still expressed in concepts that are meaningful to the end-user. Based on this view, the boundary of the IT solution is identified and the system requirements are defined. These requirements provide the basis for the user acceptance test plan. A domain model can be used to help to justify the project in terms of the benefits provided against the costs of implementation.
