Almost all high-level enterprise executives when we first meet will say that software development is not really their core business. They’ll say: “We are first and foremost driven to be leaders in the [banking-insurance-telco-utilities-retail-travel-health care] industry. Our core business is helping customers, not developing software.” (Unless, of course, they are actually working for a software company.)
