6.5.1. Finite Deformation Analysis of SMA Plates
In this section, some numerical simulations, aiming at analyzing the capabilities of the presented models in predicting the thermomechanical structural behavior of plate and shell structures, are illustrated. The analysis has two main targets: first the numerical calibration of the adopted constitutive model in representing the effective three-dimensional material behavior, and, second, the assessment of efficiency and reliability of the approach in describing the structural behavior of three-dimensional devices, in the large displacement regime.
