Chapter 4. List Concepts
SharePoint's basic means of information storage is accomplished using the concept of a list. Much of the data that you create or consume within SharePoint sites is contained in a list of similar information. Each of the lists in SharePoint can have its own unique set of attributes that describe an item in the list. WSS comes with many standard list templates and the capability to create your own custom lists based on the structure that best describes the information you are trying to capture.
