3 Script Your Build

A build converts source code into a runnable program. Depending on the computer language and environment, this may mean you’re compiling source code and/or bundling images and other resources together as needed. The scripts, programs, and technologies used by your compile and resource bundling are all combined to create the build system.

Now remember we’re not talking about compiling/building within your IDE. For the most part, you do not want to use your personal developer IDE to compile the project, even if you’re the only one using it (see 1, Develop in a Sandbox if this sounds odd to you).
