Many times we use a to-do list to track our work. The List formalizes the to-do concept so we can use it in a team setting.

In the past, when working on smaller projects, we used legal pads and notebooks to track our work. The List began as our personal to-do list of things we didn’t want to forget. As we transitioned into more leadership roles, The List we were using began to contain teamwide items and paper became inefficient. After you show other team members The List enough times, you start looking for alternative ways to record and share The List.
