Power Cable
The term wire generally means one or more insulated conductors (solid or stranded
for exibility) in small size, whereas the cable means one or more insulated con-
ductors of large size grouped in a common insulation jacket, often with a ground
shield. Figure7.1 shows a single-conductor, 2 kV class cable, whereas Figure7.2 is a
3- conductor, 3-phase cable suitable for 5 to 15 kV applications.
