The July–August 2021 edition of Harvard Business Review contained an interesting article titled, “Why Do So Many Strategies Fail?” The author, David J. Collis, noted that the primary reason why so many strategies fail is that leaders focus on the parts of strategies instead of the whole—that is, on a single strategy at the expense of the system.
