5 Linear Filter Applications
Linear digital filters have as a typical application, frequency filtering for attenuation of certain frequency ranges such as high-pass, low-pass, band-pass, and band-stop filters. In this chapter, we explore some important applications of digital filtering which will be used later in this book and are also widely used in the signal processing community. State variable theory is presented for applications where the system state (position, velocity, acceleration, etc.) is of interest.
