Data-Converter Terms and Design Characteristics

Much of the basic design information for a particular IC data converter can be obtained from the data sheet. Likewise, a typical data sheet describes a few specific applications for the data converter. However, converter data sheets often have two weak points. First, they assume that everyone understands all the terms used. Of more importance, the data sheets do not show how the listed parameters relate to design problems.
