Selecting a suitable routing metric is crucial in attaining high-throughput in any wireless network
architecture. A wrong choice may lead to selecting lossy links. In this chapter, we investigate the
performance of various non-probing-based routing metrics over underwater acoustic networks
(UANs). Non-probing-based routing metrics are chosen since most of the nodes in UANs operate
