Abstract

Journalism and librarianship go hand-in-hand. In this chapter, I shall discuss how studying journalism impacted my career as a librarian; and how both of these things changed my approach to information. It will also discuss, how I try to bring these things to my students because I understand, from both sides of the table, the challenge to both: present and find good information. I try to convey that to my students because I feel that outside of academia and librarianship, being a critical reader, or user of information, is a key skill to making informed decisions.
