WINDOWS PRESENTATION FOUNDATION (WPF) is the new vector-based rich graphics model for developing Graphical User Interface (GUI) applications in .NET 3.0.[1] WPF lets you write Windows applications that can present rich media, 3D models, animation, and other advanced rendering approaches with much less code than preceding technologies. WPF fundamentally changes the way you develop Windows applications. With WPF, you will program against a whole new API that is based around a rich composition model of elements, and you will do a lot of that programming in a new XML-based programming language: eXtensible Application Markup Language (XAML).
