In part 1 we looked at patterns for solving SOA challenges. Patterns are a powerful medium for explaining solutions, at least in part because the discussion of each problem is focused and isolated. This is also a weakness, because the real world is rarely like that. Part 2 of this book takes a look at what happens in different aspects of SOA when you try to implement services and apply patterns.

Chapter 8 talks about antipatterns you may encounter when you implement a service. Like patterns, antipatterns discuss problems in context, with the difference being that antipatterns look at common mistakes and how to solve them, as opposed to patterns, which look at solutions.
