Pinterest is a highly visual site that burst onto the social media scene and became the fastest growing social site in 2012. Especially popular among designers, artists, fashionistas, and other creative types, Pinterest makes it easy to “pin” and share images and video in collections called boards, as shown in Figure 10-1.

One of the simplest social media sites to use, Pinterest is designed to make sharing and organizing images easy. You are a bit limited in design options when creating your profile, but how you set up and share images gives you almost infinite possibilities when it comes to creating the overall look of your Pinterest pages. This ease of use and invitation to creativity make Pinterest an appealing platform for the casual user and the marketer alike, with everyone from home businesses to large brands jumping on the Pinterest bandwagon to promote their products.
