A good deal of literature in the training field deals with summative evaluation—what happens when the training is over—but little addresses the importance of formative evaluation. This can help the trainer identify what is “sticking,” whether learners are taking away the most important information.

• Conduct an A to Z summary (no repeats). Each learner tweet one thing he or she has learned. Each item should start with a different letter of the alphabet, from A to Z with no repeats. An example is shown in Figure 2.9
