Hosting an Online Course
College instructors report success at using wikis to host an entire online course. Due to the text-heavy nature of the wiki, this appears to have been most successful with academic courses that require writing, such as English composition. Similarly, workplace training practitioners will want to match the technology to the instructional intent. A wiki might be a good choice with, for instance, hosting a business writing, policy development, or project management course. Or, with the addition of tools for capturing audio and perhaps video, a wiki could make a nice foundation for an online foreign language program.
