Part I. Software Management

Software development projects often involve several people for a prolonged period of time. Large projects may even range over several years and involve hundreds of people. Such projects must be carefully planned and controlled. The main aspects that deserve the continuous attention of project managers are introduced in Chapter 2 and further dealt with in Chapters 37: progress, information, people, quality, cost and schedule. The management part ends with Chapter 8, in which the various approaches sketched in Chapters 37 are reconciled.
