Chapter Twenty. Progress
The effort of defining our goals, expanding them into a clear specification, ongoing prioritization, and management of change takes considerable time. The value this provides is that it allows us to know how far along we are on the project, whether we are getting into trouble, when it would make sense to stop the project, and when we are really done. This knowledge is critical for reducing the uncertainty and increasing the predictability on our projects.
In this chapter, we look at the resulting value of all this work we put in project oversight, with a few specific issues that cause problems in the ongoing management of many projects.
