3.2. Solar Thermal Collectors

A system for converting solar energy into thermal energy is generally provided with the following equipments (Fig. 3.2): solar collectors, heat storage devices, circulating pumps, heat transport and distribution network, automation, control and safety devices. This system can be supplied heat for a house heating system or/and a DHW system. If insufficient solar energy is available, then an auxiliary energy source is used.
