I have written this chapter as a very personal account of my own
small efforts in promoting PV in developing countries. Over the past
30 something years I have been privileged to travel and work in
50 odd countries of the developing world. This has been at times
exhilarating, at times depressing, even infuriating. I write about a
small selection of these experiences. I apologise to any individuals,
countries or institutions I might offend.
