Objects

Rules and policies are made up of objects (addresses, services, interfaces, and so on).

The following list describes the main types of objects:

  • Address objects define network nodes, groups of nodes, or networks.

  • Service objects (and service group objects) define port numbers used by particular services and are used in security policies.

  • Interface objects denote interfaces on the firewall.

  • Certificate objects are the certificates used for encryption and authentication between SunScreen firewalls and remote administration stations.
