Minimization for Network Security

As you saw in Chapter 1, “Enterprise Security Framework,” minimization is a required part of any security strategy—and it might be the most commonsense one. By minimizing the points of entry, you minimize the effort necessary to defend them. For example, if you have only Secure Shell (SSH) running, you have only one reasonably secure service to take care of. Disable what is not needed, and only then concentrate on securing what is left.
