This marks the end of the chapter! Are you having fun yet? Good! In this chapter, we discussed the basics of server monitoring, SNMP and WMI configuration for servers, virtualization monitoring, VSANs and Cisco UCS, and Universal Device Pollers. I'm sure that by reading this chapter you have learned quite a bit about how monitoring a server works in Orion NPM, as well as how the different server and virtualization technologies operate. To me, this is one of the biggest strengths of Orion NPM in that it gives you in-depth details about a network device and displays the data in a single pane of glass that makes sense.
In the next chapter, we are going to fully discuss alerts, which is one of the largest features of Orion NPM.
