In this SolidWorks Surfacing training video, expert author Matt Perez will teach you several Surface Modelling Techniques while you work on recreating a Ferrari Enzo steering wheel. The techniques you learn will be used to recreate geometry based on reference images and will provide you with the skills needed to tackle other surfacing tasks. This course is designed for users that already have a fundamental understanding of SolidWorks. You will start out by setting up a plan of attack and creating basic geometry, then diving into more complex tasks. Matt takes you through the process of building the steering wheel, including creating airbags and the Ferrari emblem. Next, you will learn how to create the upper and lower wheel, adding features such as the tachometer and spoke. This video tutorial also walks you through creating the hand grip, showing you how to blend shapes, create the turn signal button, and add a thumb depression area. Finally, Matt takes you through the finishing touches and shows you how to set up the scene and render the finished model. Once you have completed this computer based training course, you will have an in-depth understanding of how to create surface models in SolidWorks.
