Wireless systems that require ultra-high data rates in interference-limited environments must use transmitters and receivers with multiple antennas to take advantage of spatial gains. There are numerous signal-processing schemes available for a multiple antenna system, whether it consists of a simple pair of diversity antennas or an array of antennas operating with sophisticated MIMO processing.
